The problem
We partnered with Essential Energy to kickstart an awareness campaign on their tariff trial and help bridge the gap between when renewable energy is generating at its peak vs when households are using electricity the most.
As solar is at its strongest between 10am - 3pm, the shift in household usage habits means that our nation can soak up the excess renewable electricity.
We needed a visual system that sends a clear and concise message to the viewer, with tips that they could easily grasp and start implementing immediately.
Flexibility meets budget constraints.
With deliverables spanning multiple ratios and durations, efficiency was key. We developed a modular visual system anchored by a circular centerpiece - giving us a clear structural template that made re-framing, re-sizing, and animating simple, without sacrificing visual intrigue.

Armed with a script, we started with rough sketches. This allows us to get our ideas on the page quickly and to ensure we don't waste any resources, pushing an idea that you don't like. Once you see the vision as we see it, we move onto finalising the design.

They loved it so much, they came back for seconds.
The following year, they brought us on for their 2024 campaign - this time framing the electricity grid as a traffic grid. Designed as a direct evolution of the original, we kept the signature illustration style and iconic elements while giving it a fresh, distinct flavour.
